There's just something special about a classic looking working standard defender. Dynamated all mine and well worth it. Just more refined. Mud pannels another big plus. Give it a factory feel OEM finish. I also cut and stuck some rubber matting on the bulk head/side of the tub. Again just finishes it , and also helps so much with sound absorption. Just to give you an idea -

Today didn't really go to plan as the painter didn't turn up to finish my roof because of a little snow fall he needs to get a defender
Anyway I carried on assembly and decided to put the roof back on even though its not finished so I could take it home to work on, the painters back on Tuesday so it's going back then for the roof painting and buff The hardest job I've done on it was defiantly fitting the glass back in the rear door.... Need proper tools next time! Few more pics.... Click image to enlarge It's easy to source I combined it with 6mm insulation foam. I did buy the exmoor trim matting for floor and sides, but wouldn't recommend that. Firstly, its expensive and secondly I had to trim floor mat as it wasn't cut to right dimensions. Sorry to hijack your thread Kirk
Sourced the matting from ebayhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330748435832...1439.l2649 Brought a 3m length for the same postage, and arrived within 48 hrs. Had already dynamatted all the interior so stuck the rubber to that. It goes behind the bulkhead bar and under the mud sides. Made cardboard templates to shape ends, the stuck in with a good spray adhesive, heat gun and patience a plenty. once fitted I then used sika flex to join in the corners, hopefully making a waterproof tub. |
