Mine has stayed home whilst my other half is fitting the Safari Equip auxiliary wheel arch fuel tank.

All going well so far, job slowed down by having to modify the roll cage mount to the chassis.... just a bit of cutting and re-welding onto a new plate.

Whilst he had the paint out to re-paint the cage mount, Dave also took off my mud flaps and is painting those too (the LR paint came off them within about 4 months of putting them on!).

Weather permitting looking at getting the tank in, which means draining diesel out of the main tank and punching a hole through for the joining pipe. Fingers crossed it all works! Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

Drove it for probably the last time. Super sad face Sad Sad

Guy came up from Birmingham to have a look at it, left a deposit, and collecting next week.

Been up since 5am as I was dropping the parent folk off at Liverpool Airport (incidentally, a Nissan Juke uses just over three quarters of a tank to get from East Lancs to Liverpool Airport and back!! Shocking!), so got back home and gave Big Black a bit of a spruce up as I'd not used it for a week and was looking a bit grubby. Went for a little run down to the petrol station and put a tenners worth of diesel in it first though...

Think there might be a small draft in the garage...

Much ice smashing and sponge defrosting and polishing later Big Black was looking shiny again...

This is my temporary replacement....

I still find myself waving at Defenders when I pass them, so please humor me and wave back if you see me Wink Thumbs Up

And if you want your driveway tarmacking or want to buy some lucky heather give me a shout... It's already been dubbed the Pikey Wagon!

Fitted the JW Speaker headlights which were an early crimbo present from SWMBO. First impressions are good but they will take a while to get used to methinks. Also the sidelights look distinctively dull in comparison to the headlights now so may have to bite the bullet and get the river runner 70mm LED lights all-round now. Big Cry

Do those stripes actually make you go faster? Shocked haha.

Really sad to hear that your giving it up, they get under your skin so quickly. ===================================

The added speed that the stripes add is cancelled out by the drag from the ladders Wink .... It doesn't like hills that much but on the plus side it doesn't drink diesel too fast! I'm only using it until I find something to replace Big Black though, I'm just being a bit fussy with what I get.

Properly gutted to be getting rid of the Landy though, but just bought a house so needed to sell it to pay the deposit.

Should be getting the keys to the house next Friday all being well, but I'd much prefer to have Big Black parked outside (as I, sure the neighbours wood too...)

Cheers Thumbs Up Seems to have gone on forever. Was apparently going to take '4-6 weeks tops', but then the banks solicitor started dragging their feet, then when it looked like things were moving again the seller decided he was buying a house so that delayed things again! Rolling Eyes Finally light at the end of the tunnel now though, fingers crossed....

Our Nordkapp 2013 team had a run out to cold Welsh field for a shakedown.

All kit performed as expected - Few remaining jobs to do

Today I've rebuilt my rear fold up step. What a damn stupid idea, I should know better as it is a land Rover, but it's no wonder mine fell apart. The idea of using a long M8 bolt through a tube to act as the pivot for the fold up step is a truly bright one. It was totally seized in the tube and just kept shearing off so I got a piece of solid bar cut to the same length, drilled and tapped the ends in M10, put it all back together and the jobs a good-un, no more balancing on the tow ball Thumbs Up
