Aah okay thanks - thats was my thought, using the stereo, just needed a second opinion. Low amps drawn ( only 3amp fuse needed for camera and screen) so should be okay. |

Your welcome. At least this way depending on which part of the wiring loom you use it's replaceable if you need to in the future instead of butchering a part of the existing vehicle wiring. I guess if you really wanted to go the whole hog you could have a 3 way switch which you could have ON OFF and Reverse but you'd have to wire into the ignition AND reverse but all possible and gives you more functionality. Why is it you don't really want to tap into the reverse ma I ask?

No particular reason, want to keep it simple and also be able to see what's at the rear without putting car into reverse gear.
My screen allows for two camera's so maybe at same later stage I may install another camera that's linked to the reverse light. |

One other thing, with the radio harness, how do I know which wire is live, earth etc? Do I just need to check with a multi-meter?
I had a look at the "complete electrical connector manual" but as far as I can see that just shows source and destination of Pins in a plug - doesn't tell you what each pin is though. |

I cannot guarantee it so make sure you check first but normally the ignition is Yellow and the permanent live Red.

How's the install going? Which screen & camera did you buy? I'm looking at installing one myself soon.
