Thanks Dave
Quick search found this http://www.candb-seen.co.uk/flashlightstor...re-c8.html Looks identical to the Rigid Torch - about £40 including battery, charger and postage - but is rated at 1300 lumens Any one got one ? |

not in the same league perhaps as the type you're looking for but these Ring models from Screwfix are still only £4.99 and at that price cheap enough to leave in the glovebox:

If anyone shops in RS they do a Christmas promotion where with three orders over a certain amount you can either take promotional products or vouchers. Last year I got five in-car Led Lenser small torches for me and my work colleagues. Led Lenser for me are one of the market-leaders and as with most things German Engineered they are very good if not a bit pricey!

Just found my two in the glove boxes and seems like I got a lenses L6 as a pressie a couple of years ago. Seems pretty bright, and certainly good for some reasonably close range lamping.
Also bought a cheapie for Tesco a few years ago , that has a Cree led in it as well and also pretty good for under a fiver! Not quite as bright as stage L6 but good enough for general use, batteries on both seem to last forever as we'll. So depending on use, it's probably not necessary to spend megabucks nowadays , but I guess, if you want the best, spend more. Now I've said that I bet the Tesco one breaks down next time I want it, just to spite me DJ 1989 200tdi 90 csw 2011 110 usw Orkney grey Buy British 🇬🇧 Defender Clothing Designs available at http://www.rangesports.com/acatalog/Defender-Stuff.html |

So reading between the lines.... huge choice, price range, specifications.
Used the Maglite last night, well made torch but light output is dismal, always have been, it works but looking at the above posts and playing with some LED torches it's way behind the times. Still leaning towards one of these due to size and performance. Although the Halo looks quite interesting http://www.torchdirect.co.uk/fenix-tactica...utput.html http://www.torchdirect.co.uk/olight-torche...torch.html Although if we're looking at a Night Master's prie range this one is quite tempting http://www.flashaholics.co.uk/thrunite/thrunite-tn30.html 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |
