I love the feel of my old Maglights, so for each one I've upgraded the bulb to LED. Either a maglight-branded LED upgrade, or in one case the TerraLUX upgrade. A huge improvement. Now I have brighter lighting, better battery life, and still the "feel" of the Maglight Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

As already said in other topics
Conrad electronics have an ongoing action on maglites, LED set including 3D cell, 2AA cell, holding clips for the 3D and batteries included for about 50 euro (last i saw it is 40 euro now) (do not confuse with a similar set called "constructor" or something which is similar and even cheaper, these are the krypton bulbs, not LED) Cant beat that. Build quality is still the same as my old classic ones, light output and battery life non-comparable. Had led lenser etc etc and cant justify the price difference to be honest. |

RI don't make diablo's anymore, they upgraded the halo from 600 lumens to 800 lumens and runs on lipo's and are £69.95
They come with a mains charger and a 12v car charger. Last edited by bpman on 25th Oct 2012 7:46pm. Edited 3 times in total |

Is that a mains and 12v charger. do you have to remove the batteries to charge or is there a charging input on the body ? 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top

Yes mains and 12v, no you dont remove the battery, there is a drop in holder with two pins on the torch, ideal for permanent installation in the 130 hopefully

So it's that time of year that I thought it might be worthwhile jump starting this thread. tech has moved on but Lenser and Fenix seem to be still towards the top of the ranks.
What new torches are people using & could recommend? Ideally I'm looking for a smallish, palm size version - although it seems these can still push out 960 lumens |

Had led lenser torches for few years
got the biggest rechargeable one they do and is unbelievable how bright it is also got the smaller rechargeable also very good but wife just got me a coast rechargeable one to go in defender , and really think its better then the led lensers and cheaper and brighter then my led lenser one the same size , you get 2 rechargeable battery packs , one pack that takes normal batterys , 240v charger , 12v charger, usb charger , holding clip ,belt pouch holder doesnt have a charging dock but batterys can charged in or out of torch , handy to have a spare charged pack or one charging while using one |
