Led lender p7 or t7 for general use. Don't be fooled by the compact size, they're fantastic torches.
Same for the H7 head torches Over on D3 |

Led Lenser are ok but there are a lot better torches out there that out perform them but aren't as mainstream/as well advertised.
The torch/flashlight world is unbelievable with some serious money spent! You will struggle to find any of the new Cree/led torches big enough to fill the mag lite clips, the jet beam rrt3 XML comes close at 46mm diameter but at £280 may be over the top. Have a look at torches from Fenix, jet beam,Nitecore, sunwayman all have loads of different power/price torches and I'm sure you'll find one to match your requirements. Have a look here http://www.flashaholics.co.uk/ |

100% agree For the record, i use a Fandyfire STL V3 .. pocket size, under £30 and makes most other 'main brand' torch's look like candles dealextreme .... http://dx.com/ ... is a good place to start looking. Any hand size torch fitted with a XML led and a wide diameter head [40mm +] will blow you away Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Looks like the Maglite body is 40mm so that makes it slightly easier to find a similar sized LED body. This one seems to be about the right size with a good specification
http://www.torchdirect.co.uk/olight-torche...torch.html The L7 or P7 both look good and good value. Quite surprised at the choice available. Could do with trying some in the flesh especially at the asking prices. 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

as before I have an L7 fantastic torch for the money it weighs 140g and is small without being too small, unfortunatly smaller than your 40mm requirement ,I got mine as a pressy of the MRS to keep in the landy but I swap it from car to car and take it back in the house with me I like it that much, It is great for walking the dog and the adjustable beam is great for walking to highlighting the path or for spotting a fox for the dog to chase 100mtrs away. In fact a that price Im going to order another then it can live in the landy. Looks like the L7E is lot less pocky DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Bought the below new type LED Maglite from Amazon.com recently. Think price right now is quite good too for this specific model. Must admit I had the chance to have it delivered (no charge for that) to a USA address and picked it up there myself a month ago when I had to be there for work, so I just paid the $24. The light output is incredible as compared with the older Maglites with a bulb. This new one fits perfectly in the net on the back door of my Defender.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IXAJV...02_s00_i00 You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
