OK folks ... I've bought some 3-way replacement speakers, the active sub and a set of tweeters to mount on the dash - all from justkenwood ...
Thinking that for the front of the 90 splitting the high, mid and low frequencies out I should get a nice sound ... and with better, full range speakers in the rear it should fill out the overall listening experience ... While fitting i'll remove the seats and carpet to put the noise killer kit in ... and thinking of leaving the two rear seats out to give some more load space for Mrs T and I when out camping or re-enactment kit ... Am sticking with the replacement Puma head unit (I wanted the front aux socket for the tomtom/iPhone sat nav) for the moment - but am looking at a Parrot Asteroid but really want a DAB tuner ... Will take some pics and notes as I start to fit and give some feedback on the audio improvements |

I also notice the Kenwood active sub that a lot of you were interested in on Just Kenwood is now a lower price than when I last saw it: http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/ksc-sw01-speaker It was approx £140 only a month or two back. Maybe it's all of you buying one so they've lowered it a bit âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Nice install, mrs G would have a can of coke all over the sub in minutes if mine was there The amp is a bit 'loud' (pardon the pun).

It is indeed a little vulnerable having the sub there but it's a good positioning and I won't be getting anything on it or spilling it in my case. The amp looks like it does because it has a vinyl decal (skin) on it which matches my HU background. But the amp it's self is a brushed alu kind of casing. Same as the sub cone almost. The sub grille was also grey but I re-painted it gloss black t fit in with the interior better. The Amp skins are available from DecalGirl and have any design you can think of even create you own. Their also available for iPhones and iPods ect too and many other devices. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Stu - The HU is indeed very good. I wouldn't be without it now. If I had the LR unit I just wouldn't use it then faffing about with discs and even the one with the iPod jack is not very user friendly. The sound quality is very very good indeed. And no it isn't a free air sub at all. I still wanted to re-tain the use of the cubby so this was my option. However I need to look into a seal for the cubby lid and two locking latches (Like the LR seat box ones) this will then effectively make the cubby a sealed enclosure as it should ideally be. But as it is still sounds good! Another option would have been to mount it in the lid but then using the cubby is out the window but will work well all the same. Depends on personal preference really. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸
