Traction control
Anyone bought a Puma without the traction control option and then had it retrofitted by a maindealer? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

No. TC plus ABS Standard on XS models (and other high spec such as SVX) only. 'County' spec and below don't have ABS or TC.

Very good argument for buying 'County' spec in my opinion.

(I will now duck down behind the parapet before the TC fans start throwing teddies at me!) Laughing

Why would you want it retrofitted? A pair of torque-biasing diffs would be cheaper and arguably a better solution. Certainly much easier to fit.

I am sure that it is possible to retrofit factory TC but it would also involve retrofitting ABS and the cost (certainly if using new parts) would be mind-boggling. A complex job too I imagine.

mine is not XS (i think she is ''County'' type. white roof and wheels, no heated seats and screen, no half leather seats) and she has ABS & TC

-for ''off road'' looks better LSD or full locker
-BUT for ''on road'' i think it is better Land Rover's packet (ABC & TC) www.newfoundland.gr

when I purchased mine a 2011 model abs and tc was standard on XS only, and was a £750 option on all others DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

ATB diffs. No effect on road unless your trying to be a rally driver and then they help.

TC is a band aid that kicks in when you're getting stuck it doesn't help to stop you getting stuck. I'd have ATB diffs over TC anyday! Having both is even better mind! 90XS Tdci John Eales
