which radiator
Hi all,

I have a 110 with a retrofitted Td5 engine. The rad has sprung a leak, but I don't know which one I need. The part number is PCC001010 but paddocks shows a "to" and "from" chassis number so any idea which one I need.

Strangely, John Craddocks shows one fits all.

Any advice?

Looking at those chassis numbers, I would think it's the cut-off between EU2 and EU3 vehicles, i.e. when they changed the injection pressure, put a cat on and a few other bits. I think the easiest way to tell is to see how many actuators are on your EGR valve - 1 actuator it's the older version, 2 actuators it's the newer one. Although it depends how complete your engine retrofit was - i.e. were all the ancillaries transplanted too. Only you know how old the engine is.

A word of warning though - I put a Paddocks radiator in my old Td5 and it started leaking after 6 months Evil or Very Mad

I was thinking the same thing,

I thought that it might be something to do with having a fuel cooler, which mine has. It's a pain in the backside not having the correct chassis number. If I could work out what the differences were between the two radiators then at least I could compare it to whats in there at the moment.

i think there both the same tbh. having had an early td5 90 into which i fitted a later engine the rad stayed the same

If your rad has sprung a leak, why not get it recored? When my 300TDI rad needed renewing it was cheaper for an uprated recore rather than a new rad from all the usual suspects. 110 D250 SE HT

Re-coring was mentioned as a suggestion in the link I posted too. Walfy's right! Be cheaper than a new rad and you'd not have compatability issues with fitment.

2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Oslo Blue
In process of fitting new rad from Craddock who said there was only one. Mine is 03 td5 90. Was nervous as I'd been told that there were two and my car is on the change date!! New one is identical to old so ok.
