Poland 2004 Defender 110 Td5 DCPU Auto Java Black
Fitting ATB
Quick question

Is it a comparatively simple DIY (with 'basic' facilities (i.e. no press)) to fit an ATB to a standard 2004 110?

The price for built up units versus the ATB itself quite a lot higher which leads me to think that it may be a bit of a job....!

I am not a beginner, (have converted my 110 from RHD to LHD and fitted Auto box), but I have a few jacks and a vice and that's about it!

Thanks

Yes, not diificult. You'll need a dial gauge to set the backlash, and it helps to have (or make) a special tool for the diff carrier bearing nut adjustment (it is a simple tool to make) but apart from that nothing complex.

Be aware that the diff is heavy though, and unless you know what you are in for dropping it out from the axle can be a bit literal. I always make sure that I am directly under the diff so that its fall is broken by something soft!

Lol. Ok, is there an idiots guide anywhere? (sorry am traveling so will Google when I get home). I would expect that Ashcrofts will have an installation guide....maybe. Will take some photos when I get that far.

Thanks for the help
