on the fuses box under the steering wheel there is a RED "relay" (it is the intermittence).

take off the red relay and put the new one, game over Mr. Green

It 'very simple how it works, if I understand you just replace the relay' and function without replacing the command. Very Happy Vale

Re: Yeahhh I have variable front wipe washer intermittence
I've also just seen on another forum that this relay is the same one used to make the the rear wiper variable:

"Bosch make a replacement relay with a variable interval, anything from 2 to 45 secs. No wiring or switchgear changes, literally plug & play. Have them both F & R on the 90 (R with 10min wiring mod and original switch). They really are worthwhile, strongly recommended. Bosch p/n is 0 986 335 058, available from Bosch distributors or motor factors, about £14 if I remember rightly."

Thanks for the post - I'll try and find what wiring mod is required for the rear wiper and post it here.

Got the instructions - they relate to a TD5... I'm a bit thick when it comes to attachments - can someone tell me how to do it!

Managed to upload a PDF of the instructions. One of the guys on the LR4x4 forum kindly forwarded them to me.

Link is here:

Hope it works!

Thanks for posting that - I would like to do the rear wiper mod, but sounds like it's the instructions for connecting to the pre-2002 rear wiper knob, but presumably it will work on the later push/push button?
Anyone know the connections, or if there is a relay that can be swapped (like the front wiper mod)?

Can someone check if this will fit in to the 300Tdi Defender please. If it does I'll try and source two and I can think of several other people who would want it where I live. 110 2.4TDCi
