Hey Zag, that one's a different colour to the one you posted the other day. Different boat or has it just been painted? Darren

It's the same boat but all the anti foul was grit blasted off last year and new green Gelshield put on £1100. Very Happy

I need to anti-foul it and put a boot top on. The entire rig was renewed also last year costing a fortune Shocked but they saw the new Crabber for sale at The Southampton Boat Show 90K Shocked and ordered one on the spot.

They could have got a very nice Series one for the money they spent on it last year Whistle The engine has only done under 400 hours Shocked Good for 8000. Hell of a find and at 4K under price after a BIG haggle as well Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy I have got my 28K back that I spent on the Defender which makes the deal so sweet Thumbs Up

I need to ask you about this. You say you got around £23K for the 110 and you say there is some equity in the boat - hence you got your £28K back but if the boat is so easily worth £28K how come you got it for £23K?

My guess is;

As previously stated, the previous owners needed to get shot of it quick to make room for their new boat so were willing to take a hit Thumbs Up

Vs the cost of additional moorings to store it if they ended up with 2 boat on their hands.

I suppose it's a bit like a cash buyer buying a house that's needs to go before a bank forcloses! A little less money is better than no money. Russell

Ah I assumed, incorrectly then, that it had come from a dealer....

Just haggling as usual - i enjoy it and do well our of it, buying and selling is fun although the Defender was the only car I got stuck with Rolling Eyes 4 year old 27k SAAB for 4.3K Very Happy, Jag replica worth 27K got for 17K, current boat worth 9K got for 7.5K etc etc Used to buy and sell old SAABs which is where I originally built up my lump from, turned one of those around in 2 weeks with a 2K profit, not bad as it was half it's value, bought for 2K sold for 4K Shocked Very Happy . I think we've all probably got stories of good buys and sales Wink Just got to keep your Cool

The boat was a trade in for a new 90K Crabber. Crabber were advertising mine for £32750 (I put a link to the advert somewhere! May still be on the Crabber brokerage site!) but it's worth 28K and Crabber said that's what it owes them. They didn't discount the new Crabber so they had some lee-way. I got them down to 25K after a while then 24.5K then a final crazy last ditch offer of 23.5K that paid off Very Happy I would have gone up to 25K but they didn't know that, It's just haggling.

E.G. OK my final offer is £5 or make my mind up for me on £5 or my last offer is £5 and I'll leave it in the lap of the gods.... They don't know you are bluffing, you can always come back if they say it's to low and pay more Wink

Crabber are also getting value from me as I am getting their Crabber club going and have given them marketing ideas so they realise the value of having me on-board and getting some rallys/meets etc organised - they're not silly It's the best and cheapest advertising out - it was a good deal for both sides. Thumbs Up

Yes still up on the site. She is the 1997 one at £32,750 priced according to the thousands spent on her last year - BARGAIN for 23.5K Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy I am very lucky!

I'm crap at haggling Neutral
When you've been on the receiving end of it for years, it can be annoying, so I wouldn't usually do it.
When I do get it, I'm very grateful Cool but don't expect it every where...
However I was just cheeky and got a grand knocked off a caravan Laughing
