We all learn from our mistakes, part of life really. If he is going to drive offroad a lot maybe his next birthday present could be a trip to LRE ???

Good idea Thumbs Up

Looking at some of the smacks my rear cage took it is no wonder the bars gave up.

Sure was scratchy, worst one was low down that must have come from something sticking out of one of the banks.
The door it is on is due for a respray anyway as it has been two tone since new, I may sort it one day Laughing

Tree and branch scratches were not to bad.

Certainly was good fun, one of the highlights was the Red Kite where we had coffee in the afternoon Thumbs Up

Bob / Steve

I liked that go faster stripe that went down the side of all four cars in an identical pattern Shocked Very arty

Some of the lanes were certainly interesting, and that is what makes days like that so memorable.

And as for the extreme pruning team building session at the end what can i say - great fun, however if i see that kid again that said it was only a small tree trunk he will be getting a clip round the ear!

See you both for the next one

Thumbs Up

Mark

washed it in the pouring rain. The reason being that I use autoglym wash/ bodywork conditioner which is fairly greasy to use and needs a good chammy afterwards (which I don't like doing) so the rain washes it off nicely with no marks. Also gave all the black stuff a good spray of Autoglym tyre dressing while everything was still wet as it spreads better in the wet and gives a nice satin finish.
I'm sure the neighbours think I'm mental but tomorrow morning the Defender will be gleaming and anyway its only a bit of rain so what ?

As T1G UP says, easily avoidable.... Whilst driving tractors on the farm as young as 12 I learnt that you NEVER turn towards the slope (always turn in the roll direction).

Plus the track doesn't look lik it is on much if any camber- looks more like he went up the banking on the side.

is there an instructional website/youtube video of the dos and don'ts of offroading?

Gave the winch a bit of a workout pulling some poles. Faultless of course although snatchblock necessary to get the half cubics of concrete out of the ground.

Why drive in if you can winch through the door?

Picked up our new caravan from our friend. So this year we will be nice and comfortable at the Nationals

We were aven given the awning, locks, extra ALKO towball, plates etc. all we need is cuttlery.

I can highly recommend the two pin DixonBate towing bracket that I bought too as there was none of the usual clattering from the tow that you get on a single pin plate.
