Same here, took a while to sort that one out, although I was told that no longer needed - something to do with the keys being changed, although I'm not convinced.

How sorted out?
I allowed myself to be fobbed off, but just last week a mate was obliged to disarm his Range Rover by turning the key three times and slamming the door four times and singing Hare Krishna or whatever was required, but at least he wasn’t stuck. Peter |

Do the 2011 build Pumas still use the Lucas 10AS alarm module? If so they are talking . Get them to plug it into their diagnostics and they can read the EKA off the screen. You can see it in the bottom left of the pic. The boxes are empty because I don't want to show the settings info on my Puma.

Not really sorted out, rather they went away for a few days to obtain the code (also the radio code) - came back with the radio code but said emergency key thing not longer relevant.
Much like the leather covered gear knobs mentioned in the brochure I guess. Dj 1989 200tdi 90 csw 2011 110 usw Orkney grey Buy British 🇬🇧 Defender Clothing Designs available at http://www.rangesports.com/acatalog/Defender-Stuff.html |

Ain't it the same unit fitted to rover 45's ?
On those you could disarm the alarm by entering the code using the drivers door lock like entering a safe. 3 left 2 right etc Pom |

The rover 45 had the 5AS unit pom, and it too had the EKA function

Lorryman: Yeah, that was the screen they brought up and showed me. I can't remember the contents, but it was from that they "proved" that no EKA was available. I'll try to get a copy of it...
Pom: Exactly, but you have to know the correct sequence for your particular vehicle. Peter |

I'm surprised they did not program a 4 digit code in for you as the 10AS allows new settings to be written?

Lorryman: Mmmm, looks like we're getting somewhere. Definitely something to go back to them with. Having been "immobilised" last year in another car because the chip fell out of the ignition key, I'm perhaps a little paranoid.

Birdy, if you get no joy with the dealer supplying an EKA code it would be worth asking them exactly how you are supposed to get home if:
a: you lose the fob? b: the fob batteries die? c: the fob is knackered for whatever reason? because then the Puma is immobilised through the passive immobiliser and you need a EKA code to bypass it for one ignition cycle as a get you home measure. Brian. |

Are the MY2011 ignition keys an integrated unit, as in no separate plipper/key ? Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Same old two pieces on my September 2011. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |
