Quite a few posts on this. You may have a red engine lifting bracket at the top/rear of the engine that can vibrate lose. Easy to take off, the later models don't seem to have them left on! If you cannot easily see one, you won't have it, they are obvious to spot.

Dealers should remove them - if not it easy to spot. John

yeah my mate had a similar thing happened and it cost him a fortune......good advice here I wish heŽd known about it...how much do you think it normally costs? is there anything you can do driving-wise to stop it happening?
Check out this website where I bought really cheap clothes and shoes. Last edited by racer111 on 10th Feb 2014 3:41pm. Edited 2 times in total |

As Zag says you can't miss it, if it's there it's a steel plate with a large hole in it that's painted bright red and you will find it at the back of the engine / head. Steve. Thanks all for the information.
Looking at photo of my engine bay (don't care the green circle) I can see the red bracket in the upper right corner (blue arrow). I will remove it asap! |

Why not just nip it up to the correct torque? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

The bracket? When it's fitted it can cause chafing to the pipework that runs very close / over the top of it. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
