Rear hinges

Has anyone had success oiling the back door hinges. I am sure the creaking/cracking noises are coming from the door hinges, but l can't see how to get to them.

lt was exactly the same noise as my old Defender made and oiling the hinges shut it up for months.

Not done it but interesting as I have a creak at the back so will investigate and let you know if I come up with anything

I am not sure why cars nowadays have no hinges lubricated. I have spread lithium grease from day one on my defender. Some of my more techy friends with engineering background suggest is not needed. However it is harmless to spread some old fashion grease…and makes me feel better

You can also use dry silicon spray if you feel rich…

l've managed to oil the hinges with spray grease.

However it didn't stop the creaking.

please try lubricating the sealing rubbers, I also had a squeaking sound from the rear and it helped me

the sound is when you are closing/opening doors?

Ditto Sasa's post, I routinely dress all the door seals with Gummi Pflege silicone lubricant. It seems to keep the creaks at bay. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey

UPDATE

lt was the under trays that were creaking.

l removed them, sprayed grease on all the mounting points and bolts, and refitted everything. Now the vehicle is silent.

I'm very glad, but can you be more specific about which under trays you're referring to? ...Are you referring to the underbody protectors? If so, did they transmit creaking noises to the interior of the car?!! thanks! Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY
