Swapped the non hub centric spacers for hubcentric ones...

Ok so test fit after painting, couple of hinges to try the opening and quite happy with results

Your right the MoD would secure the Nato hitch directly to the cross member using the 4 bolts.

Which brings it almost in line with the 4 bolts on the cross member plus I can put my normal bar back on

This however if used on highest setting also means either a higher spare wheel carrier or as the forum member whose pictures these are use it one down. Still works and sits level.

Hello - fascinating and very helpful thread, thank you. I have just purchased a MK2 Sankey and have recently started a refurbishment along the same lines as yours. However, my VIN plate is very badly abused (see photo). I can make out the stamped details and want to renew the plate but I need a clear photo of a good VIN plate to use as a template. Could you send me by email a photo of yours that I could use as a template?? Thanks!!
