The G3 was the only one available up until earlier this year. People on this forum have been using G3's with the L663 since 2021. It works fine but some things need the G4. The 2 threads at the top of this Forum cover all that you can do with a G3 and a G4.
All you can do with a G3: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic89347.html Things that specifically need a G4: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic92384.html At the end of the day, if haven't bought one then get a G4. If you already have a G3 then just try it. Defender D350 X-Dynamic HSE 110 MY25 Carpathian Grey |

Thanks again for this info. This describes the situation as it is. All clear now. I may probably try out my colleague's G3, but I will most likely end up buying a G4.

Just to clarify: we had to define a cut-off date for the G3 to G4. The G3 will do most things on an L663. But there are several things that it will not do. So if you are purchasing an IIDTool it only makes sense to purchase a G4 - especially if you would like to make CCF changes.
The G4 works on 2023's onwards. We are a small organization and don't always get around to updating the website as diligently as we should RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s, 2 FL1s and a L663 on the way |

Question: on my old 2011 tdv8 Rangie I would reset the service interval via my GAP IID when I did 6 monthly oil changes so the ECU knew it had new oil for subsequent DPF regeneration calculations.
For an L663 with a G4 version IID I can’t see where you do that. It’s not coming up on the menus anywhere. I wonder if it’s just change the oil and filter and not reset? Seems counter intuitive. Any thoughts ? G4 works well on my 2021 as well.
The service interval reset is under the instrument pack section I think. I do mine each time I change the oil too. |

@ Retroanaconda Can you please be more specific about the section you find this reset interval in?

I’ll check again but I’m sure it wasn’t showing in that menu when I checked on my 6 month old car.
Is it always there as an option irrespective of whether car shows service required on dash or not? MY25 90 D350 X-Dynamic HSE in Silicon Silver and coil sprung 1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie" Many Range Rovers and Land Rovers over the years 😂 1949 80" - still in family since 1975 |

How often do you change the oil in your L663? MY25 90 D350 X-Dynamic HSE in Silicon Silver and coil sprung 1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie" Many Range Rovers and Land Rovers over the years 😂 1949 80" - still in family since 1975 |
