from "Legacy" to "Sidebar Controls with DSC + VC Drawer AND VC Bar on 4x4i" * MultiCAN-892 SideBar Climate from "Climate Icon on Side Bar Not Available" to "Climate Icon on SIde Bar Available - FICP Replacement" * MultiCAN-896 ReCircle Soft Button from "Not Fitted" to "Soft Button Fitted with timed and latched logic" * MultiCAN-897 Max AC Soft Button from "Not Fitted" to "Soft Button Fitted" * MultiCAN-897 Max Defrost Soft Button from "Not Fitted" to "Soft Button Fitted" * MultiCAN-897 AC OnOff Soft Button from "Not Fitted" to "Soft Button Fitted" * MultiCAN-897 Auto Climate Soft Button from "Front AUTO Climate Soft Button Not Fitted" to "Front AUTO Climate Soft Button Fitted" * MultiCAN-898 Front Htd Screen Soft Button from "Not Fitted" to "Soft Button Fitted" * MultiCAN-898 Rear Htd Screen Soft Button from "Not Fitted" to "Soft Button Fitted" * MultiCAN-894 Volume Soft Keys from "Not Fitted" to "Audio Volume Soft Keys pattern 1" Volume button has been appeared on sidebar but unfortunately it does not work correctly for me. Shortcut panel of Home screen is contained with this activation, maybe. If you leave multiCAN 894 VOLUME SOFT KEYS AS NOT FITTED it works! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Hi,
Thank you for all the great info in this forum thread. This is by far the biggest source of Gap iidTool information I’ve come across Because of your help, I’ve been able to enable the following features on my 2021 Velar HSE R-Dynamic (I know this is not a Velar forum). Park assist ATPC Auto Terrain Response Configurable dynamics I also played with 205 - racing subbrand Splash screen to add the RDynamic logo to the speed dials. This was all done over about a week. Somewhere along the process and maybe a coincidence, but I developed severe battery drain. Two days of standing on the drive, the car would lose all battery power. I replaced the battery, it was 4 years old anyway. New battery, same issue. Has anyone else come across this? Could it be caused by CCF changes made with the Gap G4 tool? I have no permanent faults showing other than the below - Is this standard when changing the CCF as it seems to relate to a CCF configuration mismatch? U2101-00 (2A) Control Module Configuration Incompatible - no sub type information Thanks for any input you can offer Mark. [/code] |

@ozzboz
Very important to charge your battery full before attempting CCF changes. After changing charging also or a good trip of half an hour minimum. I'am much more carefull now especially when there is also new SOTA knocking on the door. hi Ozzboz,
ccf file modifications can change the vehicle's CAN networks and cause anomalies, what happens? the vehicle does not go into sleep mode, it always stays awake. as Defendit says, a problem can certainly also be the battery discharge, on long encodings it is always better to use a diagnostic power supply. You can check if the vehicle is sleeping, looking if the red lighting of the hazard button goes off when you close the car after about 10 minutes. I don't understand your dtc error, you did not indicate the original ecu. |

I tried that on MY23.5 but no luck. I believe that it requires MY24 or above, since my friend has succeeded on MY24. |

@Hairy Dan, and for everybody. FYI - I enquired a G4 tool from Duckworth as recommended, and the answer is:
Hello there, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, we only keep G3 in stock, I would recommend getting in touch with GAP themselves. Kind Regards Sophie Last edited by CMG on 24th Dec 2024 4:19pm. Edited 1 time in total |

@stevemfr - many thanks, I am in contact with ExpeditionParts.
I read most of this, very interesting. Is there a place where I can find the possibilities and restrictions for the Gen3 tool / and for what kind of programming would I require a Gen4 tool? Reason to ask: I just learned that a fellow of mine has a Gen3 tool - and that chap just offered to help me with my car. Would probably require to buy a licence for that thing, which is fine. Trying to find out whether this would work out OK with my MY2024 Defender. Thanks for any input. The most important projects for me are: • Remember Stop/Start setting • Disable Seatbelt Reminder • Remote Release Tailgate • Stop Driver Assistance resets to High I do have some more things in mind, but the ones above are essential. |

Thanks. I tried to find out what exactly the functions supported are, but on the GAP website I find this information for MY2020 - MY2023 Defenders only. Mine is a MY2024, and the Driver Assist functions have changed drastically, for MY2024 (Auto Re-Activate, etc.). Is there any info available as to how this is being treated by the G4 tool, and what are the modification options? |

This is on page 1 of the 'Sticky' on GAP Activations:
Stop Driver assistance resets to High MultiCAN-889 GSR2 EU Market Ft Change it to Non GSR2 Country -------------------------------------- It's on the general one, not the G4 specific thread so it should work with a G3. I haven't tried it myself yet on my MY25 so I can't say if it definately works. Defender D350 X-Dynamic HSE 110 MY25 Carpathian Grey |
