Haha just not right now. I like my Td5 its 280hp, easy to work on and 550nm+ of torque so no slouch.
Just getting a bit tired of the R380, eventually need a new uprated box, clutch will need doing in maybe 30k as well. Modernish auto would be nice and paves the way for an M57 in the future. Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

I know MW do a TD5 to 8hp but I don't think there's one to 6hp. At least that I've read of !
But I also have an M57 so that's me out too 😁 Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

Actually joking aside, you’re probably right. Plus you would have to spend quite a bit more to make an m57 auto quicker than a tuned TD5 with sequential. It’s a no brainer, get that kidney on eBay! WARNING.

i frequently think of doing an auto conversion to mine, but don't want to use a D2 auto box. i would consider an 8hp conversion myself

I think the biggest issue is going to be interfacing with the ZF Transmission Controller - the aftermarket TCUs require inputs from the engine ECU on throttle opening / RPM / Load / speed etc in order to be able to determine the shift points, lockup etc - these normally come via CANBUS direct from the engine ECU.
As far as I know, the TD5 ECU doesn't speak 'normal' CANBUS, so you are going to have to hook these up somehow to get these into the TCU.. |
