2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

3rd brake light element in glass

The Rubber seal seems to have rubbed on the element in the rear window glass so the brake light doesn't work. I can't see any marks on it, but 12v stops at this point. Bypassing this point and the bulb illuminates.

In the past on the mini i used the paint on granville electro connector, the paint on stuff and that worked well for the heater element - but will it work for a 21w bulb? 1953 80"

2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 CSW Keswick Green

Think this is a common issue, I ran a wire from the spade connector at the bottom, tucked under the window seal all the way around to the light fitting at the top to bypass the problem. Works well and almost invisible.

Update! the brush on stuff worked a treat! I've put some electrical tape over where the rubber goes so hopefully that will never happen again. 1953 80"
