United Kingdom 1999 Defender 110 Td5 SW Caledonian Blue
Replaced one wiper arm for a new one. Failed to replace the other one as the grub screw for the splinned adapter had rounded off and needed drilling out. But......I couldn't locate the right size drill bits...

Refitted the spot lights after being cleaned up and painted.

Removed the winch in preparation for repaint and tidy up. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Reminds me I have a few bits to repaint at some point.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, seems like it’s going to be quite nice weather for most of us. Thumbs Up

Over the last week or so;

Fitted a new lower dash vent control cable - after removing a lot of the dashboard to do so.

Fitted mudstuff air vent 2.0

Removed the winch for a spruce up and a lick of paint

Replaced a few of the bolts for the winch for stainless ones - the ones that hold the control box in place and the stay bars.

Refitted the winch after having a lick of paint. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Lubed various heater control cables etc in the engine bay with silicone grease.
Lubed front shackles and their captive swivels etc.
Lubed Turbo EA pivots.
Tiny top up of coolant
Checked engine oil level

Checked all the engine bay wiring, pipes etc etc.
Well worth checking all of that, well worth looking for any loose items or any pipes or split conduit etc that are rubbing or crossing over each other or anything loose or contacting edges, zip ties and professional adhesive cloth loom tape are ideal for that and helps cut down rattles as well.

There are a few areas to keep an eye on where things could rub, especially the top of the engine block area. You can also keep an eye out for any oil deposits or signs of boost leaks etc and things like that.
Very Happy
