Hoovered the 110(Tuesday)
Washed the 110(Tuesday) Waxed/polished the 110 all round - yesterday Cleaned all the windows to remove the water marks Back to black on the wheel arches Back to black on the mirror heads Removed front LED spot lights to give them a tidy up / paint as the paint was flaking off 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Got a few bits to do to keep it looking up to scratch, mainly in the rear tub.
Also decided some new wing mirror arms were in order and decided to spruce up the mirror heads whist I was at it as I get fed up of them keep fading. Prepped, sprayed with adhesion promotor and then Raptor, which will match the side sills, sidesteps, wing chequer and front grill, all of which look as good as the day I did them, some over 4 yrs ago (grill pic attached). Fitted new wiper wheel boxes and a new motor cable as mine was extremely dry and wheel boxes were worn.
Bought the design development stainless steel units, excellent quality! Dash isn't such a bad job to remove, just long winded. 2011 90 X-tech 6.2 LS3 V8 |

Yes, that that is it with that job it’s not a hard job or overly complicated it is just time consuming and a bit unwieldy.
This time of year is the time to go do that job. Also for periodically using washwipe so wiper arms don’t stay static for months with no rain, it’s this time of year and towards the autumn they can seize up due to lack of use. Then you get some rain, or an MOT coming up and then they don’t work and the weather is bad and then it’s the worst of both worlds then. NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |

Last week I got around to greasing the prop shafts. Some grease needed...But what I did notice was (coincidence?) that a vibration that I had at around 60mph had gone and the drive felt smoother... 1999 Defender TD5 110

Greased my clutch pedal box, A frame ball joint, Prop sliders and prop UJ’s.
Not a lot that is very exciting, but well worth doing - I do mine approx every quarter. Ideal weather for it too, nice and warm after coming back from a run the grease will flow better due to ambient temperature.  NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |

Excossack - Coincidence I just noticed your post after I had posted, funny enough the prop shafts greasing.
Slight imbalance / vibration, does happen I think it’s perhaps where some grease can be in some bearing cups and not others. As Blackwolf has mentioned before IIRC with the UJ spider centre greasing point it isn’t an ideal greasing method as it’s injected from the centre and not in each bearing cup. So the grease can take the path of least resistance, so if one bearing cup gets solidified grease in it then it’ll pump out of another instead. NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |

That sounds like the issue I had with my UJs out of balance. So far they seem OK - I might add a bit more grease now I have done a few hundred miles. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I need to bow my head in shame, a couple of weeks ago the DEF wouldn't start, in true fashion this happened in the middle of Wales 100miles from home and a 2 mile walk just to get a phone signal. RAC came 2 hrs later and it started so I drove home without stopping and then it wouldn't start again.
Ian from IRB answered his phone and had the car after some lengthy diagnosis and changing a couple of sensors he diagnosed that I had refuelled with petrol!!! As this was only about 25% of the fuel it would start when cold but not when hot. Hence I need to apologise to anyone waiting Ian's attention as I just wasted a load of his time!! How I managed this for the first time after 43 yrs of motoring I cannot explain but it wont happen again. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Sunday, popped along to the Leafers at t' pit gathering at Apedale Valley Light Railway.
First Land Rover event I think I've visited in several years, and the first time I've attended this event since its move from Wakefield National Coal Mining museum. What I hadnt appreciated when I briefly looked into going was the Light Railway is a smaller venue alongside the Apedale Heritage Centre, which is essentially another mining museum. Great range of leafers in attendance, although sadly I didnt get chance to get pictures of all of them, especially the Dormobile and Carawagon parked side by side which were great looking vehicles. Chatted to the owners for a few minutes to discuss the relative merits of each roof system as I've never seen a Carawagon in the flesh before.
