so the ATRIC is the better one, will it perform the same function as the nanocom or more on the code reading.

Could you have two Maps.

For instance, most economical for commuting, then a slightly more powerful one for towing etc etc??

How much would that cost? Current:D4 HSE
Gone: BMW Z4MC
Gone: Defender TD5 90 CSW

The Atric gives you the ability to read and clear DTC codes as well as safely swapping between map files on your defenders ECU. The Nanocom is a diagnostic tool and allows you to read and clear dtc's as well as giving access to the 10AS and Wabco units.

Good news for Td5 owners... We have now managed to get ATRIC working with all EU3 Td5 models! Very Happy

Even better is the price... An ATRIC module for Td5 for just £395+VAT.
(Before anyone asks, That is the Forum Price!) Mr. Green

Hi Gary, can you explain the real difference between an ATRIC remap through the post and coming down to yourselves for a remap. I live in Scotland so would have a long drive to get to you, so in theory the Atric seems the better option, but i would rather drive down to you if i thought that doing that would give me a better performance from my 110.

Went to Alive Tuning today to pick up an Atric for my TD5. As it was I ended up just having a map done by Gary which is so good I can't see myself ever needing to take it off. Service by Alive is superb and totally non pushy. I didn't need an Atric myself so they didn't try to sell me one. Thumbs Up

Gary,
Totally off subject, but when are your VGT turbo kit for td5 defenders going to be for sale?

I can do as much to the mapping with ATRIC, as I can with the car/ecu with me. The main difference is that I like to see the car whenever possible, so I can see how it's running, correct any (often undetected) faults, and set the car up while out on road test. We'll not come back until it's running as good as we can get it. With remote ATRIC remapping, I have to use a best guess to get the mapping right for you, and may need to send some revisions to rectify any issues that may occur. You should still get a great remap, but I will need your feedback to be accurate so we can achieve best results. This could be tricky if your car has an engine sensor that's running out of acceptable tolerances though.

Unfortunately, ATRIC locks itself to the VIN of the car to be remapped, so you would need to have two units for two cars. I am sure we could sort some kind of multi-buy deal. Wink

Many thanks for taking the time and coming to see us. I am delighted you are happy with your remap, and our 'soft sell' approach. If you don't need it, we won't sell it to you. Smile

Very soon! We've had a few turbo's out there being tested on a variety of different cars, since late 2010. One is on a pretty high profile hill rally 90 racer, which has helped keep it at the top of it's class. Another on a 6x6 Defender, that works hard all the time, towing heavy loads across rough terrain. We have not had one turbo failure to date, so all we've had to do is tweak the boost (pressure and delivery) control, which is now spot on.

It's a pretty comprehensive conversion, and I can assure you there is nothing out there that will touch it. Don't want to say too much, so I am keeping my cards close to my chest right now, as we have some aces to reveal during 2012. Mr. Green
