those seemed to have vanished, one bloke through seaham, had two of those. One was a yellow colour and one black. This was 10 years ago, i thought that TVR had went under, but when i googled them, they are still around? i have not seen any cars for years from them. The original automatic chokes could be a right pain.
Many had them were removed and a manual choke fitted instead. These days they work perfectly and as you say, no one understands them unless you have a two stroke strimmer or hedge cutter, they all seem to have them. But then, lots of people buy battery garden appliances now. |

Used to see the TVR Tuscan Challenge ( if I recall the right name ) at Snetterton back in the late 80's. Those things were awesome. Great racing in the dry, like Bambi on ice in the wet, but still enjoyable but for all the wrong reasons ![]() Dawn French had a TVR. They were a bit like a Defender. A car you had to live with. Electrical Gremlins were many, the build quality was questionable and they rusted like a dog but oh did the look and sound good. |

Those manual choke conversion kits were a good seller back in their day. Here's one for nostalgia : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176257030716 |

I’ve read that but both of mine were 100% reliable and build quality was light years ahead of a Land Rover. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

Essential when your engine was racing away on tickover at the traffic lights. |
