An original Colin Chapman Elan, or a 1990's Elan?
I mean neither of those cars are seen very often on the roads, so a good spot, but coming from Norfolk, I'm just interested. I seem to recall the 1990's Elan was produced as a limited edition, so was seen as a good buy for increasing in value, and then they went and made a load more and it upset those people who had bought what they thought were a very limited run. Does anyone know if that was true, or did I dream that up? Limited edition or not, I'm sure they would have been a great investment if you still had one in good condition. |

Saw a Peugeot 504 (diesel) on the road today, must be 40 odd years old, looked in really good nick. My Dad used to have one back in1979 in the UK. It was the estate version and was enormous inside with 3 rows of seats. Only lasted until 1986 when it had to be replaced due to being so badly rusted. I remember the engine being a in-line four was not vertical but leaned over to one side.

Up in Orkney for a couple of weeks.
Saw a very nice Mk1 Escort in white with red stripes. Then a 4x4 Sierra. I couldn't see any Cosworth markings - was that a thing? Plus plenty of abandoned vehicles in fields (incuding old Land Rovers). Could do with a visit from a scrap merchant. |
