I have some switches I need to get up and running, all Land Rover, but can anyone point me to a starter kit that would include the terminals and also the crimping tool? Thanks

Well firstly I do the connector kits, complete with terminals, cheap than them
https://fnltd.co.uk/shop/5-way-defender-sw...6-p71.html You can either buy the 100% correct manufacturer crimp tool, a compatible tool or a generic tool. Depends on budget. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

For these, I would go with
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozan-P-706-Barre...B002TKG11G You do the wire and the insulation separately, but a bit of practice on some scrap wire and spare terminals - you get one per connector from me, but I'm sure I might include a few more - will soon find the correct positions to use. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Hi Martin,
What is the typical gauge of wire used in the LR switches?, I only have off cuts built up over the years and would need to add some to the supplies.. Thanks Andy Andy 2014 Fuji 110 SW LS3 https://www.defender2.net/forum/post751233.html#751233 2014 Corris 110 SW http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40056.html My old Xtech 90 build.. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic15681.html LS3 V8 build... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic49051.html |

Generally, 0.5mm2 is used for most switches as they don't directly switch their respective devices, they are signal wires or low current for illumination. The heated seat switches do switch directly and have 1.0mm2 input and 0.75mm2 output wires. And although it only switches a signal, the air con switch factory wiring has 1.0mm2 in/out and ground wires. Different connectors to these, but the electric window and hazard switches again have larger wires as they switch directly. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
