Well the Tractive saga goes on, Tractive were sure it was interference caused by my electronics, so I did a complete uninstall by stripping out all my carefully installed cables and put all the wiring and controller on the floor and the problem remains, still had no response from tractive, guess I'll be putting the fox shocks back on....
Been a few things since my last update The Eybrows are now back from the body shop and fitted, the the door closing strip is back from being powder coated and installed, the bottom YRM sill panel is back from the body shop and fitted and the side panles are now fitted. Getting very close now Paul Shame about the Tractive but hopefully they will help you get it up and running.
What are the plans for the bonnet? Gloss black or body colour? Bonnet now done, really please with the work Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge and this one is especially for you Click image to enlarge also fitted the Optimil bonnet hinges, think the match with the window washer is great and the match with the Santorini paint is also good Click image to enlarge I'm told the last two items needed (roof and back door) will be done by next Thursday |

10/10
I have been out about in mine the past few (wet) nights and with the carpet / dynamat removed its frightening just how the water can find its way in so def give it a run in the wet before you put all the lovely interior in. Also I got to use the big Laser light bar which just turns on the daylight switch. Have you seen the new Laser bumper from Twisted? It integrates the Laser's a bit better that the Uproar and has the CAN interface to have the drl etc. I have them on the transit and just makes the night time driving so much easier. Black Defender is probably the most obvious choice but when you see the silver used on the Adventure Editions it does look good

I now think Satin black to match the wheels could work well, subtle Andy

I wasn’t sure about silver, but seeing it on the Adventure Edition has made me think twice.
Gloss black will get lost against the paint. I like the satin suggestion! I would probably go for satin or leave it without. The Tractive saga continues, In order to prove it was nothing I had done causing this noise, I totally stripped the loom from the vehicle, moved the car to outside my workshop and wired the suspension on the ground and as far away from the car as possible.
Click image to enlarge And to prove my point I also disconnected the battery so that all my electronics were dead Click image to enlarge and the noise was still present and perhaps a tad louder. Tractive have said they have never seen this on any of the defender kits they have sold. They now are going to send me a lead so that they can connect to the unit via teamviewer to increase the frequency of something, I'll keep you informed as to progress. Now for better news the roof is now on and it releases an awful to of work (mainly electrical) and fitting the doors. Some progress pics in the Kent sunshine Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I'm not sure if I said but I thought I have a go at fitting the side windows my self and totally f%&ed it up as a result 1 window is scrap and VGS wont sell me one windows (very annoyed ) so looking at going back to my original OE sliding windows Click image to enlarge |
