Hi Carrotbay, ah thanks, that's good to here .
I am getting a bracket made as I tried to drill different holes in the original and just wasn't working for me. I am getting a few brackets made but i don't have a price yet from the machine shop . I have seen a few others make their own brackets rotating the actuator 180deg nearly but since I have access to this place was the quickest and easiest route for me. I'll keep you updated Shane |

Click image to enlarge Magic Shane! Cheers for the belt, pulley and tensioner info. E90 seems to do the trick (haven’t started it yet). Photo shows the belt id’s for anybody making the same mods.

Click image to enlarge Carrotbay, The turbo actuator on my install clears. It’s close but it clears. The plug housing touches the steering box but I may get away with it. Otherwise, just need to trim the housing a bit. https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u..._image.jpg

Thanks MJ - really useful I got my engine in this week and I’m probably a few mm further forward as the actuator plug is very tight against the steering box. I’m going to space it back a little on it’s mounting bolts and that should do the trick. Good to see the belts, just waiting for some bits to arrive and that should sort that. What are you doing for power steering hoses? |

another little side project. I am running disco 2 axles and one of the nights i was installing the brake disc stone guards, had a great idea to run an M6 tap through the threads to clean them, i was wrecked tired and broke he tap inside one of the threads, ah well i'll fix it tomorrow. got another M6 tap to finish the 2 other holes and guess what broke that one, time for bed
I bought a new axle casing and was quicker and easier to buy the new defender brackets from YRM, same friend then welded them on for me. While i was doing this i got the HD diff guards from BlackBird industries so had to take the front axle out also , all sent for vapour balsting after welding and painted 2 pac black. Installed my Pioneer 4x4 brake lines, Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Shane / MJ I’m swapping out the power steering pump and air con pump on my E70 engine for 330D parts. Please can you help with the idler under the alternator / next to the tensioner? I bought the part below, but I don’t think it’s right as I think it needs to bolt through the alternator lower mount and the one supplied doesn’t. Do you have the part number you used?
