Defender puma alarm upgrade
We have an immobiliser on our Defender, we also have the alarm sensors above the drivers head to one side, if the car is entered without switching off the immobiliser the Hazards start flashing, so my question is can an alarm/horn be fitted to this somehow?

Someone with more knowledge than me will correct me if I’m wrong, but if you’ve got the sensors and the lights flash, it sounds like you may have an alarm already. It could just be a BBUS issue (battery backup sounder). I think it can fail after a period of time.

To aid answering your question.
What vehicle do you have ?
What year ?
Does it have central locking?

Depending on year you will have either a 10AS or an ALM unit fitted and potentially a BBUS (Battery Back Up Sounder) fitted.

Here are some docs on how these alarm units can be configured with a Nanocom diagnostics tool including the settings available.

Thank-you for replying.

It's a 2008 defender puma 2.4 non central locking.

In its standard location the BBUS is fitted behind the nearside front headlight. However for security reasons it may have been relocated.
