I think there is pre made looms you can buy that have appropriate wires and plug / sockets already fitted.
I’m not sure who though, but I’m sure there is such availability. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Looks like forum shop for cables etc is offline at present due to the semiconductor issue around the world
But you have them here also https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/defend...ions-loom, also on the bay of evil you can get the blank connectors etc if you wanted to make up your own Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Thanks for the info, but I was rather thinking of just purchasing a load of correct gauge wire (which is?), cutting the original wiring in the middle and soldering an appropriate length of wire in. Sure this is a faff, but with the nice and easy mud stuff plug and play extensions being £36 a pop, that’s £180….

Does anyone know of a source of the male connectors used on those extension harnesses? The bit that the original connector plugs into instead of the switch.
I'd be grateful for a link or similar. Many thanks. |

Blackwolf no idea prob some place in the Far East.
Pilsbury pie you may not need to extend them all, I actually needed zero after buying one, as I could put the switches in other locations Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Hey everyone,
I'm about to order the double din unit from defender upgrades.co.uk. Any one have any pictures as to the wire situation? Would be nice to know what I'm about to get myself into Thanks, Niels |

I fitted mine without any need for extensions, just moved switches to locations they would reach. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

I would ask PaulMC on here regards connectors, along with Martin they are both very knowledgable about them..
Some of the connectors are unique and are quite difficult to identify. PaulMC has kindly helped me many times for connectors and wiring items. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |
