Didn’t even realise this was a thing! How do you get to the menu?

I wonder if there's an "obnoxious but toasty" setting?

Everyday is school day.
Didn't know this was a thing. I just push and twiddle things until I get what I want. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

So l got in the vehicle today and it was 4deg C outside. I turned on the climate but it only produced a gentle flow of air, such as when the fan is on "2"
l checked and it was on "soft & quiet" Turning up the temperature didn't increase the fan speed or really make much difference. To get to the climate settings l have to press the bottom right button on the screen, which brings up all the settings. Then l have to select "climate" and press the bottom left button on the screen, which adds "climate" to the 4 options. lf l don't do that the "climate" option isn't there, replaced by "home screen". So then l press "climate" and under "air flow" change it from "soft & quiet" to "balanced" or "powerful & fast" This then works so long as l don't turn off the climate. Or else it reverts to "soft & quiet" lf someone could tell me a better way to do it, that would be most welcome Last edited by lightning on 27th Nov 2023 5:29pm. Edited 1 time in total |

If you press the fan icon beside the left hand temperature controller down you can manually adjust the fan speed by rotating the bezel.

But that cancels the "auto" climate
l guess if that's the only way to get the vehicle warm quickly l'll have to do that. |

The fan will be suppressed until the engine warms up, this is how it’s supposed to work. I guess it’s to avoid drawing heat out of the engine until it’s up to temperature, it’ll be to do with emissions no doubt.
It’s up to temperature within 3-4 miles or so and then the fan kicks in and starts warming the cabin. I use the heated seats to bridge the gap on cold mornings! |

If you tap the settings icon (cog icon bottom left) that takes you into settings, then Apps -> Climate ->Auto Airflow. When I've changed it there it stays on that setting. Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S Gone: Defender 90 HT 200Tdi, Discovery Sport, Freelander 2 Insta: wizzardprang |

l figured out what's happening!
When driving l normally select "ECO" on the drive mode. This automatically sets the HVAC to "soft & quiet" l never figured it out until today. lt also turns off the heated seats if they were on. |

I nearly always drive in Dynamic mode, but back in the summer I noticed that eco mode reduces the air con a lot.

Ah! That’s new news then! I wonder how much fuel is saved running the fan slower! Feels like clutching at straws!!

Its done as a multiplier against all vehicles sold to provide a cumulative C02 benefit for emission regs. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |
