I don't turn the climate off at all, this way when I use the remote start feature, the cabin is exactly how I want it. Only takes 2-3 minutes, engine is warm and trans torque converter is also ready to go. Better than driving off immediately after a start up.

^ not quite so quick when it’s -6C outside………… even with the cabin heat set at +23 it takes longer than the timed pre-heat but only the metal on the steering wheel is cold to touch after 30 minutes but the cabin still isn’t up to temperature by then………… maybe I should have formed out the extra £1300 for the remote controlled diesel powered heater instead of the ediff!
I tend to drive my Mini on cold days as the preconditioning heats the seats and ,as the steering wheel also heats on preconditioning, there’s no frozen metal bits to touch too Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Your profile picture shows a Defender 300tdi
If you own one of those l am surprised you are not happy with heater in new one! My wife had a 300tdi Defender some years ago Wife "There's a draft on my leg when l'm driving along" Me "ls it cold or warm" Wife "Slightly warm l think, not sure" Me "Oh, that's the heater" |

One of my biggest complaints with the Defender is the weak climate control. My old LR4 and Disco 5 always cooled down and heated up really quickly, as does my 2023 Macan S. The Defender just isn't as good, even in "powerful & fast." 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟏𝟎 𝐒 𝐏𝟑𝟎𝟎 (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar)

Mine seems okay but it's the Commercial version so it's only heating up the front cabin, there's a bulkhead behind the seats.

Mine is poor. Even on hi for half an hour with the remote app it isn’t that warm when I get in. My discovery sport was much better MY23 D250 Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar

I've noticed the Heating and Cooling on both the Defender and New Range Rover to be less effective than previous LRs I have owned. I don't know if its because they are trying to be too clever but the vents, temperature and overall impact of changes via the controls seem less responsive. I find we end up fiddling with it much more to get comfort where on the old models we had it at a set temperature and almost never touched it. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I have no complaints about the effectiveness of the climate control. But mine is a P300 so I wonder if the petrol engine warms up more quickly.

Yea generally petrol engines heat up quicker. But some diesels have an electric heater in addition to the normal one.
Clearly not the Defender though, from the messages above. On our Defender TD5 my wife used to drive it around five miles to work, which took approximately forty minutes in the heavy traffic. The heater didn't really warm up the cabin at all when it was below freezing. Modern diesels seem to be able to produce warm air from the heater fairly quickly even when you're in traffic and barely getting past 25mph. |

The A/C still works in "ECO" mode but defaults to "soft & quiet" You can turn the A/C back to "powerful & fast" while still in ECO mode if you want. |

Hi I have a question about climate control.
I do not have such option in Remote App. I know it is blocked on some market that car was made for. Is this is related to Remote App/their server or something that can be changed in CCF? Regards |
