Good job. The door cards you can do with a 10mm stick backed closed cell foam for sound proofing. It is light weight, doesn't soak up moisture and deadens road noise well. I use it above the rear seat boxes on the curved panels and underneath the Trans K9 dog crates as insulation and anti-vibration for the dogs.
This sort of thing https://www.amazon.co.uk/Panana-Insulation...amp;sr=8-4 Cheap and it goes a long way. |

Thanks,
I’ve covered everything I can access on the bodywork with Silent Coat and Dodo mat. I’ve 1 sqm of Dodo Mat (the close celled foam you refer to) left, so I’ll add that to the front door cards. Meanwhile, in other news, I managed to fit the leisure battery alongside the starter battery and refitted the front mats. Just need the VSR and some cables to turn up. Managed to get the VSR fitted easily enough. Cables a bit long but I now have leisure battery power to the rear.
Click image to enlarge Now working through mounting the seats and associated wiring. Most is simple, except the wiring for the runners works forwards connected +tve and -tve and backwards connected -tve and +tve. Is there a switch that can do that? Thanks. Everything's a hammer. |

Completed the dual battery set up.
Click image to enlarge Fitted heated RX-8 seats and dash switches and ran a bunch of cables. Apparently not everyone’s taste. Click image to enlarge Lots of spaghetti routed to the cubby box - RH seat adjustment power RH seat heat pad RH seat heat switch LH seat heat pad LH seat heat switch Leisure battery +tve and -tve Starter battery +tve and -tve USBs +tve and -tve OBD2 cable I can charge the batteries from here. Although I can access the batteries under the seat base, the seats are bolted in so I now have an option. I think I need 3 relays for the seats, then a ‘false floor’ and hopefully never see it again. Headlining and lights from leisure battery now fitted.
Click image to enlarge Almost ready to test the Roamerdrive and sound deadening. And stop putting off the camper interior. Everything's a hammer. |

You've done a nice, tidy job with the lighting & wiring there.
is the leisure battery connected to the cranking battery at all? I'm considering one as I kinda want a fridge in my own car. Also, are those additional lights on their own switch? 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

Guy - RX-8 seats, electric and heated 😀.
Now with two added switches. Click image to enlarge LJ Marsden - I’m certainly no sparks, but I now have everything working. Click image to enlarge I managed a relay from the dash switches for the heating to each seat, but couldn’t figure the circuit for motorised seat, so that’s currently permanently live. Probably not a good thing. Simple false bottom to the cubby box keeps everything out of reach. Click image to enlarge Additional roof lights and exterior work light (and other bits yet to fit) will run off the leisure battery via this eBay switch panel, which I’ll work into the interior near the back door. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Run out of excuses, now need to do the interior. Everything's a hammer. |

Love that you went for the LR heat seat switches. Looks great I have been sorely tempted of late to dump my ARB style switches that I use for roof lights, cruise control and battery link for a set of TD5-esk versions that Mud Stuff do. Then mount them in that little recess under the radio. Need and tidy... and more room for gauges |

You know one day the fun will have to be over and you have to start using this car...
What are you going to do then? Just use it? |

Guy - the switches are of course the 'TD5-esk versions that Mud Stuff do'. They look identical to the genuine LR part and when pressed operate the seats. What's not to like?
I'm a bit of a believer that old's kool, so can't ever see anything fancy happening. TexasRover - you're almost right. I did however use it yesterday for the first time since I started on the 'build'. The Roamerdrive, delivered on the promised miracle and whilst work so far hasn't achieved the refinement of an S-Class Merc, its a hell of an improvement. Onwards to the fun that never stops. Everything's a hammer. |

Not much to celebrate.
