2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black

Wiring Diagram/ Harness Diagram

I have a MY2015 90SW fitted with a factory fitted 13 pin tow socket. It has worked perfectly for the last 10 years but has now lost connection to the r/h tail light, socket pin no.5. (All other pins working correctly). The wires going into the socket are all gel sealed and therefore impossible to check inside the socket. Does anyone have both a wiring diagram and a harness/connector drawing for the factory fit tow socket so I can trace the wiring back? Failing that does anyone know where the tow socket wiring harness connects into the r/h tail light circuit on a factory fit unit. Defender 90XS SW

Remove ( couple of screws) a plastic panel located in the offside rear wheel arch behind the rear lights.

With a torch you will see a connector that connects the 13 pin socket to the loom, This wiring is for the lights so you can disconnect, test and clean etc.

13 pin euro sockets are very good, the only downside is unlike a 7 pin they are tested as part of the MoT

What would happen if you had a cover on the 13 pin tow socket?

I thought they can’t remove covers? Or would that then conclude that the MOT couldn’t be properly completed?
I’m just wondering, as if that’s included, and covers are also items that shouldn’t be removed then that is a clash on that subject. TheThunderRolls🇬🇧🇺🇸

Given the number of defective or inoperative vehicle/trailer lights one sees that’s a positive in my view.

1985 Defender 90 V8 Petrol SW Auto Arles Blue

13 pin being part of the MOT has bitten me as mine failed its MOT with the trailer connections being listed as one of the fails along with a fair list of other things. The thing is, I was halfway through fitting the socket when it went off and I left the wires from it in the back ready to splice into the light connections below the rear window....

Presumibly I'll now need to pay the garage time for them to do this wiring rather than it pass its MOT and me carry on with getting it sorted.
