I can't believe that I'm the only one that finds top gear, formulaic. It was great 10 years ago, but just another case of same old same old. I shall not be sorry to see his smug face off the wage bill at the BBC.

Clarkson is marmite. You either love him or you hate him. He is, without doubt, a bit of a c ck
[read in Clarkson introduces the Stig voiceover] However, some say that without doubt one of the best thing that any, "see-leb-reety" has EVER done, is to punch Piers Morgan IN THE FACE. And for that alone, he can do no wrong. [end Clarkson voice] New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info |

Our Swiss newspapers report this morning that Clarkson in one of his furious moods apparently hit the Top Gear producer last week. Afraid he starts to belong in the category of certain CEOs or high level political figures (the likes of DSK or Berlusconi) who think they are above the law and can permit themselves anything. Time to look for the exit door I would say. The Top Gear formula has been brilliant, but in my opinion is well over its top now, so time that the BBC invents a new surprise formula. Would be better to end it all now on a high note. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

You're not. Like Spitting Image, The Young Ones and so many other brilliant series, after time the plots get old and tedious. After waiting desperately all week for the next episode, it ends in disappointment over and over again I love and hate Clarkson but I think it's time the BBC either reinvent Top Gear or replace it with something fresher and, hopefully, better. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Not alone. It is stale and should of been refreshed a while ago. Good opportunity for a new show with fresh thinking. |

So you condone punching someone because they didn't get you any food? Obviously, this is just the rumour/allegation but in the absence of any facts, why not wait and see... I watch TG every week and think I'll miss it on Sunday; but it's rather like people that go to the same place each year on holiday, you never discover new and better places unless you try something new. The BBC should move on, recast, and who knows, in 12 months time we might all be loving a new TG and wondering why the change wasn't made sooner. If you want a JC fix - subscribe to the Sun. |

Like others, I suspect, I am in the habit of recording Top Gear so that I can then fast forward through all the puerile stuff, including the so-called celebrities in a reasonably priced car. Sometimes I strike lucky and there is a review of a car (!) included in the programme.

Without knowing all the facts it is difficult to judge what Clarkson did or didn’t do. However in this morning’s papers not one has said he actually hit someone, just the allegation that he might have.
Several of this morning’s papers have quoted insiders from the production crew who have stated he did not hit anyone. Whatever he did or did not do the BBC have said they will also can the next three episodes, which is a shame as in many ways Top Gear, no matter what you think of it, is one of the few Blokes TV programs on the box, unless you like cookery, makeovers, sewing, or programs discussing various fatty parts on women’s bodies, so I for one will miss it. No matter what happens , as has been mentioned in various posts, if sacked by the BBC Clarkson will resurface on some other channel, though I doubt it would be the same as Top Gear and even if it was an advert every ten minutes would ruin it, plus being commercial it would be heavily influenced by sponsors and advertisers. For those who would like to see him back sign this petition https://www.change.org/p/bbc-reinstate-jeremy-clarkson For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

I enjoy Top-gear on a Sunday night but I think they are running out of ideas & I don't think the show would be the same without him so maybe time to drop it?
The text jokes are doing the rounds already! I suppose he must have done something the BBC find inexcusable.....so that rules out tampering with kids! |

Loved Hammond's twitter joke
Taking to Twitter hours after the news, Clarkson jested with his fellow Top Gear hosts that 1968 World War II movie Where Eagles Dare could replace it in the schedule. James May wrote: "No Top Gear this weekend, apparently. How about [the film] 633 Squadron instead?" to which Richard Hammond replied: "No, surely, Last of the Summer Wine; no one will notice the difference. Job done." Just had a quick look at the supporters petition which now has over 296,503 signatures and the social media pages are buzzing with mostly support for Clarkson maybe the BBC has chewed off more than it realised.
