You describing failed seals on the injectors. If you prime on first start all good for the day, and no problems then on, till next time you leave it for a period of time.

Damn!
Will I need to drain the oil to do the injector seals again? Is there a big difference between an aftermarket and OEM quality kit? |

You don’t need to oil change. I would for the few ££ is costs though. I don’t think you are getting diesel into oil, you are getting combustion gases into the fuel line.
From my understanding yes a big difference in origin of parts apparently. But I fitted the kit supplied by Turners. They know their stuff. OE kit. |

Was the kit from Turners the full top end kit? I cannot see just an injector seal kit on their site ------------- Defender 90 Td5 Discovery 2 Td5 Manual Discovery 2 Td5 Auto Range Rover Classic 300Tdi Bobtail Ranger Rover L322 M57 (and more- yes I have a problem!) |

There is a massive difference, even between was is advertised as genuine! The only ones worth fitting are the genuine seals that come in genuine packaging. Even the Britpart kits that are supposed to be genuine but packaged by them people have issues with regularly. Also make sure the injector bores are spotlessly clean and that everything is torqued correctly and checked. https://twinwoods4x4.co.uk/product/genuine...-packaged/ ------------- Defender 90 Td5 Discovery 2 Td5 Manual Discovery 2 Td5 Auto Range Rover Classic 300Tdi Bobtail Ranger Rover L322 M57 (and more- yes I have a problem!) |
