I fitted an "OEM" motor when the high speed brush wore out on mine and it has been every bit as good as the original so far. I'd avoid the ultra-cheap or blue-box ones but those aside I suspect there is little to choose.
Genuine parts prices are excessive now which is a shame and, I suspect, largely the result of JLR's incredibly expensive choice of supply chain service provider. |

That’s the answer I was hoping for. Thank you. WARNING.

I think OEM would be okay, just use genuine wheel boxes and cable etc at least I would anyway.
Britpart as mentioned, best avoided there is a few others that might not be great but OEM motor I think would be okay. I wouldn’t take it for granted that you need to change it unless you have to, I kept mine in use as it had nothing wrong with it. But if there is something wrong with it then that’s sensible, good time to change the park switch too. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ Last edited by custom90 on 25th Sep 2024 9:37pm. Yep, those were my thoughts too. I just ordered the OEM motor from LR Parts
but I already have all the other bits and they are genuine. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

I try to go genuine LR if the prices are reasonable enough, otherwise, OEM and "G" Suffixed items are the way to go. I don't go with the blue box surprises unless they are the OEM or "G" suffixed manufacturer.
If the case is the latter, I check if there is an upgrade part somewhere out there that is of better quality. Failing that, I order the OEM or G blue box part and hope for the best. No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy |
