I fitted an "OEM" motor when the high speed brush wore out on mine and it has been every bit as good as the original so far. I'd avoid the ultra-cheap or blue-box ones but those aside I suspect there is little to choose.
Genuine parts prices are excessive now which is a shame and, I suspect, largely the result of JLR's incredibly expensive choice of supply chain service provider. |

I think OEM would be okay, just use genuine wheel boxes and cable etc at least I would anyway.
Britpart as mentioned, best avoided there is a few others that might not be great but OEM motor I think would be okay. I wouldn’t take it for granted that you need to change it unless you have to, I kept mine in use as it had nothing wrong with it. But if there is something wrong with it then that’s sensible, good time to change the park switch too. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 Last edited by custom90 on 25th Sep 2024 9:37pm. Yep, those were my thoughts too. I just ordered the OEM motor from LR Parts
but I already have all the other bits and they are genuine. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

I try to go genuine LR if the prices are reasonable enough, otherwise, OEM and "G" Suffixed items are the way to go. I don't go with the blue box surprises unless they are the OEM or "G" suffixed manufacturer.
If the case is the latter, I check if there is an upgrade part somewhere out there that is of better quality. Failing that, I order the OEM or G blue box part and hope for the best. No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy |
