I hope that the 11 cars are going to be split into smaller groups for the event. And setting off two groups of cars at 10 min intervals along the same route does not constitute separate groups. 110 D250 SE HT

In this life unfortunately it's about ass covering.

If on your trip you led them down a track to which someone slipped off the track, rolled there defender and was injured you'd be sued and no doubt fined or worse.

Hence the need for insurance and a cost. Can't see the issue but i ain't got a nice defender to wreck Bow down

Karl, I have to agree with Walfy regarding the number of vehicles. You can't take 11 in a convoy, it's not on at all. That's exactly why we get a bad reputation when the (albeit voluntary) says 5 max.

WHY?

Since you are on a green lane which is a public highway then you should have as a minimum legal requirement third party insurance. IF your motor insurance precludes driving on green lanes then you are driving it illegally and would be liable to prosecution!

If you are paying for a service then the organiser has a responsibility for the group and their activities. 110 D250 SE HT

So you are saying that because you take part in an organised event that you do not have any responsibility for your own action?
