2.4 TDCI Front Pipe catalyst removal

Hello,

I am looking to remove the catalyst on my 2.4 TDCI
Can I remove it without any electronic configuration? I do not see any wiring from it giving info to the ECU

Yes, on the 2.4 the cat is entirely self-contained. You can replace the pipe with a cat-less one or even drill out and break up the cat matrix inside the original can since it is so close to the manifold flange.

Be aware that it's a legal requirement in most territories though and the may be difficulties if you do.

You will notice that your consumption decreases and the car "hangs better on the throttle", the turbo revs up faster because the back pressure is lowered. Worthwhile in any case. Should have done it myself much earlier.
