I recently bought a project defender tdci and the pin has been ripped out of the bonnet which looks like it could be a tricky one to repair but I have to try. Is the pin located directly in the centre of this middle section any recommendations on best course of action?

Your only easy option is a flat plate with nut welded on the back to except the bonnet striker and then two rivnut fixings to underside of bonnet. However you do it make sure the pin can withstand the windforce applied to the bonnet at motorway speeds

yeah that is a bit of a concern but hopefully i can make it as strong as oem i think my bigger concern is the alignment of the pin and height of it. i assume the pin threaded bit goes dead centre of the central support or is it off centre? i also assume that the metal braket bit it sits on should be level with all the others along the edge of the bonnet?
many thanks |

i take it it is meant to go dead centre of that supportive bracket? and the height should be the same as the others? cheers |
