Ah, it was just the 3771’s but genuine LR items from PA Blanchards. The 3772 didn’t show up on a search but now I know they exist, I’ll bear them in mind if these aren’t enough.

Another G4 110 owner also has the helper springs on the rear which may be the way to go if the rear remains too soft.

Tangiers is a good colour, I was talking to Nick Dimbleby who was the official photographer on the challenges and he said its just one of those colours that looks good or stands out in most environments.
You never lose it in a car park!

You're welcome Thumbs Up The helper springs only really begin to engage when there is a lot of weight on the back, a roof tent wouldn't be enough. You'd need a trailer, full back end and a roof tent I expect. Helpers are RRC3266 by the way. It is the valving of the shock absorber that has more effect on the "softness" of the general ride quality, if it is valved to high it would feel like you were driving on bricks no matter what the springs are you have fitted. Non-LR versions begin at £30/shock so not dreadfully expensive.

ND is not wrong, there are not many environments you could miss the Tangiers Orange 110 in Rolling with laughter Camouflaged it is not, apart from in front of a stand of orange tango bottles I suppose...

Ah, that makes sense now about the valving. Well, coming back from Cumbria yesterday, I followed the Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue 110 across Birker Fell and down through the Duddon Valley. These are superb little roads but they also gave me the opportunity to see how a heavily laden 110 sat and rolled, from what I could see ahead mine felt to be behaving in the same manner. The ride is very comfortable now and the ARB’s are doing a good job of keeping things in check.

I’m off over the Pennines today to another test and I’ll be joining a few other G4 110’s so I can compare notes 👍

Not a lot to report recently. The club had an event day hosted by 2006 UK competitor Brian Reynolds along with Irelands Gary Robertson, so the Defender took us camping for the weekend. The roof tent definitely needs a thermal liner at this time of year or I need to get a night heater sorted to keep my wife and the hounds happy.

With a couple of days good weather, I decided to get a coat of wax on it before winter starts to bite. after the wash, the bonnet looked like it had water marks so out came the DA polisher and after some paint correction, a nice coat of Fusso99 soft wax.

It’s a nice problem to have although they all need taxing, insuring, feeding and maintaining….

Great panda, I’ve seen a pic of that before. The 4x4 Panda is a very capable car… 2003 110 G4 used in 03 and 06 events - its well travelled.

This weeks job was to fit the new side bars/rock sliders that I picked up from a fellow G4 Defender owner. Extremely well engineered and will provide protection from car park dings if nothing else!

I should add that the roof rack made by safety devices is for sale. It does need some TLC and I’ll pop a proper advert in the right section…. 2003 110 G4 used in 03 and 06 events - its well travelled.

Cheers, the 2008 Mongolian recce cars had these so there’s a bit of a G4 connection. They’ve got good jack points too. 2003 110 G4 used in 03 and 06 events - its well travelled.
