Unless you purchase the "professional" version which costs a lot more, the GAP tool is locked to one vehicle so if you bought one from someone it wouldn't work on your vehicle.

They can be transferred and/or a VIN added for a fee.

That's not true, as pjeski says it's possible to transfer ownership and VIN of a unit for a fee, you need to contact GAP to do it. Cheers Ian

Hi lightning,
This is actually a very common misconception, but I do have to admit that our system of VIN locking is not always easy to understand at a glance (though it is anything but complex).

Maybe I can take this opportunity to clear things up a little:
- Functions - Only the "advanced programming functions" are VIN locked. Diagnostic functions are VIN lock free and as such a regular IIDTool BT G3 or 4 could even be used in a workshop and is still more powerful than any other aftermarket stand-alone diagnostic system
- Transfer of ownership - If you sell or buy a used IIDTool, you can transfer ownership to the new owner and the VIN lock will be transfrerred to the new vehicle. This is available in our shop and costs all of £30.00. This is mainly an administration fee as we have to change the settings in our database and unlock the IIDTool
- Additional VIN licenses - a regular IIDTool can handle up to 6 vehicles but there is actually a hardware difference to the IIDTool Pro that allows the Pro to handle many, many more. Additional VIN licenses are available in our shop as well

The IIDTool Pro is designed for professional garage use and, as such, obviously has no VIN locks.

Lock it up and leave it overnight. Possibly reset pivi also. It will start to work

That did the trick! Let it sleep over night and after start up again both functions are working!

Thank you for sharing! I actually reversed the CCF settings back to the previous state when I could not get this to work even after a week. The settings appeared in the Pivi screen but would switch off as soon as I switched them on. After reading your post I changed the CCF settings back to enable walk away locking and approach unlocking. Amazingly the change worked immediately. Now has anyone gotten Park Assist to work after a few weeks? I suffer from the infamous greyed out start button.

I've popped my dash cover off and I have the centre speaker fitted (with a connected loom), but after altering the settings as quoted it still won't work for me??

I've held the power button down on the pivi until it resets a few times now and still no luck.

Does anyone have any input for this please?

Hello, it looks like this for me. This speaker was already installed in my car, but apparently it has nothing to do with my 400W Meridian sound system. According to the parts list, it is an emergency call/roadside assistance speaker (LR083746), but the CCF settings shown did not actually make any difference. 23.5MY Defender 110 D250 HSE

Yup, you should have the red panic button in the overhead console on the right, the white roadside assist on the left.

That's exactly how it is... but what function does this speaker have? 23.5MY Defender 110 D250 HSE

Yeah my speaker looks as above. Thumbs Up

In the ccf there is an option for a centre-speaker though so I assumed it would be the one in the dash. If the car was in an accident and had a warning/assistance siren wouldn't it make more sense if this was an external sounding siren, unless this is used for an emergency call centre to speak to you? And/or is this the only speaker used on hands-free calling to prevent echo feedback should all of the stereos speakers be used during a phone call?

For meridian sound brand option it is in the ccf yes, you'll just have to look down the list for it.

The speaker is used for the sos function as when you press your button you are connected with the call centre, so you will be speaking to somebody Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

TR2 and Dynamic Mode questions
I did this ccf update on my 24 130 and everything seems to be working properly. My question is should “auto” show up on the right hand side of the selection menu of my Pivi screen and if not is this something that can be activated?

On the dynamic mode, I made the updates but I do not see the icon on the left hand side of the Pivi screen but do see it on my dash display if it turn the rotary all the way to left. My dials change to red but I also cannot seem to find the additional tile screens for g force etc?

Thx in advance for any suggestions
