Was planning on replacing the front brake discs and pads, and was wondering if these are worth the EBC ones or to go with britpart ones

Current ones seem to be vented
Click image to enlarge This is one of the brake discs, the reason it looks so bad is due to a recent accident, which is on another post Defender 110 300tdi hard top |

I have seen that post.
So these are vented discs. The britparts version are too thin for the calipers you have. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

So the EBC one would be right for the front axles, also another question what is the difference between yellow and green brake pads? as the yellow ones are more expensive than the green ones. Defender 110 300tdi hard top

Yellow is meant for heavier vehicles, green is traditionally meant for the back axle in heavy cars and the front on lighter cars (Elise etc), anything over 1200kg can wreck greens on the front, I managed to make a set of green stuff explode in my MINI Cooper front calipers.

i like the ebc pads, i use them on my mini and defender.
black stuff is for normal road going cars green stuff is for fast road yellow is for track days red is for racing. I used the green stuff pads in the classic mini but they take a little bit of time to warm up and become effective. so now i use blackstuff in both cars and they are great. 1953 80" 1987 mini city e 2011 90" |

I have used Delphi discs and genuine pads for years, and have no complaints at all with them. Genuine pads are the only ones I have found which don't squeal or rattle so I am happy to pay the "genuine premium". Discs, and when necessary calipers, I get from delphi who (I believe) supplied them to LR originally and are great value.

Standard Delphi discs and pads all around for me. Used Ferodo in the past but they delaminated. I don't have any issues with squeal but i I use the stainless rear anti squeal shims and double springs on the rear pads to stop them rattling.

I don't know what discs I have. They could be original with 108000 M ?
For pads I use the cheapest I can get as when off-roading in soft wet sand they are gone in a day and that happens with cheap one and expensive ones. On the road I think the cheap ones wear quicker but I don't have problems with squealing. I have grooved/drilled disc's front and back and only used green stuff on the front and different makes on the back, but most would squeal at some point the pads on the rear, but just recently i have put these on all four corners and so far so good and work straight away, they are for SUV's and 4x4's

Steve, I'd be interested to know about your double springs. My rear pads do rattle a bit (you can only hear it with the window down) and I'd like to solve it if I can. Now: 2010 2.4 TDCi 110 Utility Wagon Then: 2004 2.5 TD5 90 Hard Top (X-Tech Edition) |
