2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Corris Grey

Dreamers Journey

Just thought i would start a little log (Star date 0000

) as much so i can keep track of the little mods / improvements / etc myself

So after a fair bit of hunting around and looking at a few different avenues (initial idea had been to buy an older truck and then mod but that soon changed!!) - I came up with a 'wish list' of must haves and a plan was hatched (ably abetted by various forum members valuable experience)...........a 90 Hard Top XS was the ideal vehicle and as many factory options as possible would be the 'best'

I found a very late registered '65' 2016 which basically had most of the options i wanted albeit was missing the 'premium' seats but had the added benefit of factory carpet, rear load liner, bulkhead delete and full height dog guard to boot.......

A bit of a road trip ensued and one of the other toys was pressed into service to get her home........

Pretty sure it started before i even picked the up the truck!!

This was the first job making room for it indoors which meant the better half's transport has been banished to the drive - will wait and see what she says once the winter's here as she hasn't had to use a scraper for about 10yrs+........

Obviously its a Corris Grey XS TDCi with std fare of Aircon, Electric Pack, half leather seats, etc with external spec of SVX alloys and a front factory crash bar (shortly to be removed)

Mostly have simply been cleaning and titivating, had most of the external grilles off and cleaned / waxed before refitting, same with lamp units & stone guards........removed spare wheel and must have removed 2" of muck off the back door behind the holder!!

Have also sourced and fitted a set of 30mm spacers as well as painting the rear x-member gloss black in preperation for the install of tow step and such (never had a tow bar fitted at all)
I also got a set of 90deg mirror head adaptors so will wait and see if they work tow wise.....

Has factory dark tint rear side & alpine windows as well as full length Alcantara roof lining / sun visors / etc

Also has fabric side panels which i cant work out are factory or not but have neat touches like they are recessed around the factory dog guard and such (pix to follow)

Amazing how dirty it is and only 11K miles.......

Too many creases and crevices for the dirt to hide in

The fabric side panels won't be factory ones as they've never offered such a thing. There are a couple of commercially available types but they could just as easily be home made. Post a picture and somebody may be able to tell you. Darren
