By the hub bolt pattern, looks like it is made for a Series, not a Defender axle. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

If you think getting married is expensive, wait until you get divorced. Rolling with laughter

Yep divorce costs more than the marriage. You loose things you never knew you owned. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

Ooooh its a Portal axle? I thought it was a tool for manufacturing a steel rim, right now I understand why you guys are saying its not going to be cheap.

From what I have seen of their engineering, the stuff from these guys is pretty good. I have one of their modified Disco2 ACE valve blocks to fit on my Disco (not fitted yet) and the workmanship is excellent. I am also lead to understand (by them) that they did much of the engineering behind the LOF one-piece adaptor shaft as well.

If they are now making bolt-on portal kits it is a very interesting development, but don't expect them to be remotely cheap either in price or quality.

The general problem with bolt-on portals is that the axle isn't really strong enough for the portals. Tibus has done quite a lot of work to overcome this and it will be interesting to see how D&D address the problem.

I have their disc brake conversion brackets on the series and the quality of the machining work is very very nice.

Bryan is a great chap to deal with too, their customer service I can't fault. Thumbs Up Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest
