I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that if there is an issue, the P400e is 'really really complicated' and more likely to have issues, and mine is more bog standard out-of-the-factory model Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

At 666 miles a month allowance (79p per mile), you better like the look of it on your driveway.. Shocked

48 months on a lease is a bad idea. Deal looks ok but nothing special.

Got a decent pcp quote from my bank on that 53k defender first edition.

5k down and 650pm for 10k per year. That's about the same price as a brand new s but with 0 options.

First editions seem to have very high balloon payments with lr

What's the term and balloon payment on that?

A quick Google for UK suggests this:

"In 2019, the average car in the UK drove 7,400 miles—down 20% from 9,200 miles in 2002."

https://www.nimblefins.co.uk/average-car-mileage-uk

But I take your point and mean averages might not be the best indicator of this.

It will be interesting to see what 2020 figures turn out to be!

For Europe:

With Spain being 13,000 km or 8,078 miles.

You might drive more miles per vehicle simply because you have less vehicles per capita in Spain than most of Europe:

So it would be interesting to see what the excess mileage cost was. I recall someone on a different forum with a mini was paying 10p a mile excess mileage and he racked up a huge mileage. Seems the loan company had cocked up their calculations!

36 months. Balloon was about 30k which suprised me for a second hand one. I think the brand new one is only about 31k

Thanks ~ so that's £0.95 per mile.

Do you have an excess mileage figure?

And what's your thinking behind this?

Well each to their own but the consensus on the leasing forums is that 48 months is bad because

Leases are hard to get out of so keep them short
Last year is out of warranty
Major services usually come in around that time and are expensive
