Cold start
It’s that time of year when you find the truck doesn’t like starting in the cold .

Can somebody tell me which of the relays on the attached picture is for the heater plugs and is the multi plug by the oil filler on the second picture the cables the supply to the plugs?

Finally is it straight forward removing the inlet manifold.

The truck is. 2.2 - 2014.

2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 PU Tamar Blue
Just put a meter on the feed to the glow plugs, engine side, turn on ignition and see if you got power there. At least you've checked it all the way to the glow plugs this way. Manifold is easy to remove, ideally you should fit new gaskets (8 of) Done mine at the start of the month and there was only one working. Started quite well for that though. Just be careful removing the glow plugs. They have a habit of snapping. Spray releasing spray on them for a few days. Try and get them out when the engine is warm.

Thanks guys for the information. "dorsetsmith" the wiring diagrams are very useful, but unfortunately I can't read the text even when I've printed them off. But I get a general idea. Is the "junction box battery" the fuse board under the drivers seat, it appears the the ECU for the glow plug is powered via a relay and fuse housed in the box? If this is the case which are they

I haven't had time to check the supply to the plugs on the engine side. It appears different to the wiring on our 2.4 Puma.

I noticed today the glow plug light on the dash is no long working.
