Got the new fuel lines in
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And new rear brake lines Click image to enlarge Going to need the seat box soon, had to install two new end panels due to corrosion, base has had it's first coat of EM121, seam sealer everywhere, then top coat then second coat of 121. (really can't believe there was almost no seam sealer ) hopefully now it will float if needed Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge My next move is to get this thing running to check the fuel system before installing the tub |

Seat box and windscreen surround is now together and back from the Bodyshop
Click image to enlarge Both rotten ends have been replaced, the YRM parts were easy and a great fit Old/New Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The underside has had it's first two coats of EM121 which will be followed by two coats of Lizardskin sound deadening and two coats of ceramic insulation, will do the same to the underside of the tub whilst I'm at it. I don’t plan on 100% dynamat inside the seatbox as I did for the bulkhead but will probably just do the sides and bottom. I'm using an electronic handbrake so have made a cover plate for the holes Click image to enlarge The plate is bonded in, but I forgot to remove the bolts before painting so just deciding if I should remove them or leave them in place....Dooohh I've also cracked the sump installing the catch can return to the sump. Click image to enlarge The upside of this is that now I'll have a properly welded solution as I may as well get the adapter permanently welded in when the sump is fixed. The manifolds are already ceramic coated but in my quest to control heat I plan to double wrap with Titanium exhaust wrap. Click image to enlarge |

The sump has been welded with a new an-8 adapter for the oil return between the catch can and sump.
Recieved the new system ECU from Futuranet this week. this will replace the LR ECU and interface with the GM system controllers. Futuranet have also interfaced a TMPS system onto the LR system which hopefully (still work in progress) will display on a new display in the middle of the cluster. Click image to enlarge Here it is in it's final position with the FPR & Oil catch Can Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge With the help of Martin (futuranet) we have decided to ditch the use of the OE connector for the fuel pump due to the current rating and opt for a connector more suited to the 11ish amps of the fuel pump. Been a little slow the last few weeks..
Tidied up the loom to the rear and added in extra wires for the fuel pump Click image to enlarge Now all installed and the fuel system is working at 75psi without any leaks, must have been my lucky day Next step is to get the rear tub and seat box installed but first some lizardskin as I finally got my order from Buzzweld after some considerable time despite saying it was in stock Click image to enlarge Started with the seat box which had already been coated with EM121 prep Click image to enlarge first coat when wet Click image to enlarge Finished item with sound deadening coating finished, just ceramic insulation to go Click image to enlarge Started the Dynamat inside as well, as the results with the Lizardskin were OK but nothing like Dynamat. Click image to enlarge And finally got around to finishing the diff lock linkages. Click image to enlarge Last edited by mrfirepro on 24th Oct 2021 3:33pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Been a bit slow had to finish another project for the classic car show at the NEC, but there has been a little bit of progress....
Im now starting to think about the exhaust and getting the body and seatbox installed to release the electronics. I've got the complete fuel system up and running, pressure tested and set up Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Finished off the mods to the hi/Lo linkage and fitted the cowel Click image to enlarge Treated the underside of the seat box with two coats of Lizard skin sound deadening and two coats of ceramic insulation. Click image to enlarge And completed the internal sound deadening Click image to enlarge I've isolated everything using expoxy however I'm still using some rubber gaskets Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Modified some standard LR power steering hoses to fit... Click image to enlarge started fitting up some of the stainless parts so I don't lose them Click image to enlarge Prepping the dash for switch panel and double din, prior to trimming in leather Click image to enlarge Not very impressed with the Defender Upgrades switch panel, the fit is not great, perhaps if anyone knows of a better quality panel let me know. I've ordered new wings so starting to fit up the old wings to make sure everything fits and I can start to get my head around the design of the cooling and cold air intake Click image to enlarge I appreciate all of the feedback and positive comments and very much welcome any suggestions. I'm just about to order everything I need internally and externally from Croytec and I'm still looking for someone to do the leather trim for me. |

Great update thank you! Starting to take shape now
For leatherwork have a look at https://www.marshlandupholstery.com/ they do some pretty impressive work. They did the interior for Giles English (Bremont Watches) Lightweight recently 'restored' by Hayward Revive. Looks amazing.
